MEEC is a co-sponsor of this event.

The Visitation Marianist State Community is hosting a special Day of Dialogue to address the pressing question, “how do we sustain our commitments and maintain a sense of hope in fearful times?” Dr. Daniel Horan – well known educator, author, columnist and speaker – will offer his reflections on this question during two presentations. The day will be broadly ecumenical, with participants from various religious traditions, or none at all. Many people are experiencing uncertainty, anxiety, and fear in today's challenging environment. The program is designed to help participants find the strength, support, and guidance they need.

Throughout the day, participants will have the opportunity to explore the sources of their fears and better understand what causes them to sometimes feel overwhelmed and powerless. The program includes large and small group sharing and time for personal reflection. The day will be structured to help participants connect with one another, share experiences, and discover ways to move forward despite the obstacles they face. In addition to addressing challenges, the day will focus on identifying new possibilities, opportunities, and sources of resilience and empowerment. Participants will be encouraged to reflect on their unique roles (what is mine to do?) and consider what actions they can take to strengthen their commitments and nurture hope. The event will provide a supportive environment where individuals can gain insight and inspiration to face uncertain times with renewed determination.

This in-person event will be held in the Chaminade Center on the Mount Saint John campus, 4435 E. Patterson Rd., Dayton, Ohio. Cost for the day, including lunch, is $35. For more information, contact Jim Vogt.
